Hi, I’m Christie Glaser and I’m So Glad You’re Here.

Finding the right support is an important step, and I’m happy you’ve landed here. I’m a Canadian expat who has called Germany home for over a decade. Having experienced life abroad firsthand, I understand how essential it is to receive mental health support from someone who truly understands you, without the added challenge of cultural or language barriers.
My Approach to Counselling and Therapy
Studying in both Canada and Germany has broadened my perspective, reinforcing that there’s no one-size-fits-all approach to counselling and therapy. Every person’s journey is unique, and your counselling and therapy should reflect that.
I focus on humanistic therapy, which is built on the belief that each person has the intrinsic ability to heal, grow, and live more authentically. I offer a supportive, non-judgmental space where you can explore your thoughts and emotions, reconnect with your strengths, and move toward the life you want to create.
Whether you choose online or in-person sessions, you’ll find an open, knowledgeable, and compassionate environment where you are met exactly as you are.
Together, we’ll work toward helping you find clarity, build resilience, and reconnect with your authentic, healthy self.

A Little About Me
When I’m not working with clients, I’m usually following my curiosity. Sometimes that means diving into new research, getting inspired by a podcast, or exploring new places (even right here in Germany!). I also love soaking up the sun whenever I can, traveling, and, like many of us, unwinding with a good series binge now and then.
Whether you’re feeling stuck, navigating grief, dealing with a mental health challenge, or just looking for guidance, I’d love to support you in your journey. Let’s take the next step together.
Qualifications

About My Professional Status
In Germany, I am licensed as a Heilpraktikerin für Psychotherapie (Non-Medical Practitioner for Psychotherapy).
This qualification allows me to practice psychotherapy independently, including diagnosing and treating mental health conditions, according to German law.
While the system is different from countries like Canada or the U.S., my role is similar. I have completed specialized training and passed a government health examination, ensuring I meet professional standards for providing mental health care.
It’s important to know that in Germany, the Heilpraktiker für Psychotherapie license is a recognized pathway for offering
therapeutic services outside of the medical doctor (psychiatrist) or fully licensed clinical psychologist system.
My education and training are focused on providing ethical, professional, and compassionate therapy for individuals and
couples.
I bring a combination of academic training and professional certifications. My background includes:
- Honours Bachelor of Arts in Psychology – York University, Canada
- Licensed psychotherapeutic practitioner practitioner (Heilpraktikerin für Psychotherapie) – approved by the Public Health Office in Landkreis Karlsruhe, Germany (This certification includes the ability to diagnose mental health disorders according to ICD-10 and ICD-11 standards within Germany.)
- Systemic Counselling and Therapy Training – AFS Certification
- Completed Training as a Licensed Psychotherapeutic Practitioner – VDH (Association of German Alternative Practitioners e.V.)
- Completed Training in Inner Child Work – AFS Certification
- Couples Coaching Certification – AFS Certification
- Certified Instructor in Autogenic Training – AFS Certification
- Member of the Association of Free Psychotherapists, Heilpraktiker für Psychotherapie and psychological counselling (VFP)
I am committed to ongoing learning and professional development to better support my clients on their unique paths to healing and growth.
Languages
- Native English Speaker
- Fluent in German
I believe that emotional topics are best explored in the language where you feel most comfortable. This is why, at this time, I am offering therapy in English only.
